- There are twelve medals and presentations awarded each year. The most prestigious prize the Institution can award is the Faraday Medal.

- The Institution organizes more than 120 conferences and events every year.
- The Institution publishes more than 100 new titles every year; a rich mix of books, journals and magazines with a back catalogue of more that 500 publications.
- Flipside magazine, a teen SET publication, is the only magazine of its type available for teenagers.
- The Institution provides professional advice to Parliament, Government and other agencies and produces fact files and briefings available to the public
- The IEE Wiring Regulations are published by the Institution.
- The Faraday lecture is the largest touring educational lecture in the UK, tours Asia every year, and is watched by more than one million students worldwide via satellite broadcast.
- More than £433,000 worth of scholarships are awarded to students each year.
- The Institution accredits more than 160 undergraduate courses in the UK.
